The world’s first VR helicopter simulator for the popular Airbus H125/AS350 helicopter type has arrived Norway. More specifically, CAE’s training and simulator center at Gardermoen. Here, Helitrans’s new VR simulator will stand side by side with the much larger simulators for passenger aircraft such as the Airbus A320, Boeing B737 and B737NG, among others.

However, the size is not significant, the new simulator will be an important part of the training of new and old pilots to give them realistic training in special situations and operations that are complicated and demanding to do in ordinary helicopters.

“Simulator is a tool that creates a learning atmosphere that is unique. I had some thoughts about it when I joined Helitrans, and I was very engaged to go in that direction together with the others in the company, says CEO and Accountable Manager Ole Christian Melhus in Helitrans to Cockpit Forum.
